About The Ladybuggs

The Ladybuggs was created because of our passion for working with children and supporting them with enhancing their learning and development. Seeing how a lack of opportunities and/or resources is directly linked to the development gap of children starting mainstream education we wanted to be able to make a positive contribution.

We’ve been able to identify through evidence that, the learning and development undertaken within the first 5 years of a child’s life are crucial and have a direct impact on late childhood/adolescents and potentially even into adulthood.

The aim of the Ladybuggs is to provide parents and families with resources they can use with their children to support and aid their learning and development. Children learn the most when they are having fun so the Ladybuggs aims to encompass fun, learning, and development into everything we provide.

Meet the Founder

Shola Thomas

Having attended the University of Portsmouth to study Early childhood studies, planted the seed for the beginning of The Ladybuggs. Throughout my studies, it was evident that there was a development gap between children when starting mainstream education and unfortunately the gap isn’t getting any smaller.

Since university, I have focused my career on supporting children’s learning and development from being a room leader to working alongside health visitors providing parents and families with vital and evidence-based information to support them in their parenting journey.

I strongly believe that the first 5 years of life are the foundational years that are crucial to making sure the investment in learning and development is made. My affirmation cards are designed to help invest in young children’s learning, self-esteem, and establishing healthy mental health.
